After 7 years working on his PhD-research and thesis, Lukas Pairon is now invited for the public defense of his thesis for the Department of Conflict and Development Studies at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Ghent on Friday 7th June.
He has done his research on possible social impacts of music making (SIMM) in Kinshasa, DR Congo, and the title of his PhD-thesis is ‘Music Saved Them They Say’.

He wrote his thesis in English, and will also defend it in English.
Lukas’ supervisor is Koen Vlassenroot, and the members of his examination board are: Geoffrey Baker, Karen Büscher, Jeroen Cuvelier, Ilse Derluyn and John Sloboda.
