Philosophy of Enthusiasm
This series of seminars were between 2012 and 2015 proposed by Lukas Pairon to masterstudents from the different departments of the School of Arts Ghent (KASK/Conservatorium) and focused on how important it is for an artist, when thinking and developing one’s career, to stay close to oneself, close to what one cares for and believes in, as well as when the artist is not alone, working in a collective or ensemble.
In each session professionals were invited who are well-known in their field, and who shared their personal experiences in relation to this concern: Hans Op de Beeck, Johan Leysen, Nick Steur, Sara De Bosschere (De Roovers), Gie Baguet (Frans Brood Productions), Wim Vandekeybus (Ultima Vez), Elvis Peeters, Philip Aguirre, Kurt D’Haeseleer, Margot Vanderstraeten, Sam Touzani, Peter Missotten (Filmfabriek), Gert Dooreman, Guy Cassiers, Gerda Dendooven, Marie-Françoise Plissart, Peter Vermeersch, Sara de Roo & Rebekka Dewit, Paul & Johannes Robbrecht (Robbrecht&Daem Architects), Nedda El Asmar & Erik Indekeu (Nedda), Jolente De Keersmaeker & Frank Vercruysen (TG Stan), Tom Pauwels & Jean-Luc Plouvier (Ictus), Eric Sleichim (Blindman) & Jan Versweyfeld (Toneelgroep Amsterdam) and Luc Steels & Annemie-Marie Maes.
